The Mission
Everyday Enlightenment is intended to provide an extremely simple yet comprehensive framework for learning about Enlightenment, coupled with an extensive online toolkit that can be used by anyone, anytime, and eventually every day, all day as an approach to experiencing life.
There are many online resources about Enlightenment, but a niche that doesn't have a lot of presence online are resources that
- Can be used by anyone, anytime, anywhere
- Are primarily self-directed
- Emphasize informal, rather than formal practices
- Emphasize short, repetitive, limited exercises that form a tapestry of practice
Guiding Principles
- Everything should support The Mission
- Do not reinvent the wheel - there are a lot of resources out there that provide so much information already
- Do not invent any new terms, or rely on terms that have too much baggage or have different interpretations.
- When in doubt don't add complexity to something that is good enough
- Always give credit to other websites
- Do not make or endorse claims that cannot be substantiated, such as supernatural claims
- Continual improvement to the exercises and explanations - and if something is broken, then fix it, no matter how big
- Anyone can use these exercises, regardless of their own path
- Exercises should be useful and accessible to a range of learners, including beginners and masters
